Gah! These pants smell awful. You can’t Dryell forever. Eventually, you have to just pop it in the wash. I’ve been smelling this horrible, stank ass smell all day. I can’t wait to go home and toss my pants in the wash. Je suis sezzy, non?

First off, movies in the past little while that I’ve seen and have strong opinions on.

  • Mystic River - Not since the entire master works of Kenneth Brannaugh has a movie been so in love with itself. With its brilliance and its depth and its meaning. I know some people (www.pamie.com) want a movie with brilliance and depth. Some people just want to escape their dreary, living-in-a-tiny-apartment-with-their-sister lives and watch some brain candy, a little Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, something they don’t have to think about. Some mediocrity they can allow to wash over them and make them feel better about themselves. Not everyone needs a dip in Mystic River
  • The Cooler - Again, one of those overly complicated movies. Simple story, boy meets girl, girl turns out to be a whore paid by boy’s best friend, love springs eternal in the face of overwhelming odds. Blah, blah, too much naked William H. Macy booty. Also, very dark, not just in the storyline. I kept wanting someone to turn on the lights on the set. Good Lard, it’s set in Vegas, there shouldn’t be a problem with lighting.
  • The Girl Next Door - The stupid movie that would not end with the twelve year old porn star that no one would believe was actually a porn star. Also, the final “twist”? What-evah! I work with sex educators and trust me, what-the-fuck-evah! You know, cause I’m a professional.
  • Eurotrip - It’s been done better by other people too many times to count.
  • The Whole Ten Yards - Like the first one, this movie got to that great ending point, but just kept going. And got weirder and weirder.
  • Paycheck - Interesting concept, poor execution. Ben Affleck didn’t offend me, however, Uma Thurman is a little too old to be playing his love interest. His older sister? His older sister’s lecherous friend? Yeah.
  • Runaway Jury - Loved the ending, a little muddled in the middle. The middle dragged a bit, but overall, I would have been happy to have seen this in the theaters.

Okay, that should be the catch up for now.

For those who don’t know, hurricanes suck ass. Recently, Frances sucked our ass. And still when it was a hurricane, not this wimpy ass “tropical depression” that some states are moaning about. We got the inches and inches of rain and the killer winds and the losing of power. It was a very long weekend. One that was supposed to be a vacation for Wampa and I. So much for that. I really hope Ivan doesn’t come along and rip into us after Frances was so kind.

Honestly, we’re really lucky to have escaped with so little suffering. No damage to the house, only a short amount of time without power, no serious flooding at the apartment or at work. We could’ve been destroyed like everyone who had Charlie attack them. And at least we had so much warning so we could prepare as well as we did. As long as we make it through this hurricane season, I’ll be cool. Lard, just let me move into my house.

Speaking of, to help pass the 35 days until closing, I’ve decided to start working on my Christmas Crafts Extravaganza! (confetti) If you would like some uberfabulous memento of Ho-Made Christmas 2004, just drop me an email.
